CBS Sports Employee Offers Free Football Tickets for Sex
Florida police arrested a CBS Sports freelance technical manager, Daniel Barron, in an online sting involving an underage girl.
Barron, who is 56 years old, was one of the people In charge of broadcasting the Miami Dolphins versus Oakland Raiders game on CBS, and was arrested and charged with solicitation of committing sexual battery on a child under the age of 12.
According to reports, Barron allegedly logged into the AOL chat room, "Open-Minded Parents" , and believed he was communicating with a parent offering up an 11-year-old girl, but was in fact chatting with an undercover officer.
It is alleged Barron told the parent he wanted the parent to "videotape the sexual encounter" and said "I will be very gentle with her."
He also reportedly offered the girl and her father free tickets to the Dolphins game.
Barron was arrested at the Fort Lauderdale Office Depot parking lot, where he was supposed to pick up the girl. He admitted to the crime and also said he had child pornography on his CBS computer.
He is being held at the Broward County jail and could face 15 years in prison.
