Cyberbullying Ignorance Still Alive and Well..
The following message board conversation was found online today.
It is quite concerning to read or hear conversations such as the example below. Most of us know, that we ALWAYS should take bullying seriously, no matter when it occurs, or where. Although some may think simply turning off one's computer will make the cyberbullying stop, it is hardly the case.
"Cyber Bullying victims are WIMPS?

Cyber Bullying victims are WIMPS? I see no other explanation. How can anyone get hurt or kil them self from someone bullying them online? If you're on a online game, and someone calls you a loser, or a ***, and you get all up tight or sad about it, the sad truth is you're a wimp...
How does cyberbullying make any sense, and does anyone disagree with me? Please leave details.

I agree 100%. It's the internet for God's sake! I don't care if these kids have feelings, everyone does. It's up to you to take it as an insult or not. People who bully you are what we call trolls. They "bully" you to try to get under your skin and get a reaction and ohh, you whine and complain about it gives them exactly what they want.
Boohoo, someone called you fat on the internet! They did it on purpose, retards, to get under your skin!!

I think that people can be mean *** holes regardless of the medium they use to express it. Maybe people should not be so concerned with what other people think or say, but I mostly think people should be nicer!

I think when people talk about cyber bullying or atleast the way I understand it, its well regular bullys (idoits with no self esteem themselves) pick on people they know post photshop embarrsing pics of their victims, harrass the victims over im stuff like that.
It has nothing to do with gaming unless you are stalking someone over the net and stuff like that, well then you just have no life. I think any person who goes online to bully is probably the biggest wimp of them all. "

It's a little sad to see this, isn't it?
I guess there are always going to be people who look at cyber bullying and internet safety issues in this way. Perhaps one day, if and when it happens to them, they'll realise that sometimes it's not so easy to just "shrug off".
