Another Form of Cyberbullying
This week, National Bullying Awareness Week in Canada is bringing attention to the issue of bullying in schools. The Ontario Provincial Police is alerting the public to a disturbing form of cyberbullying, called "cruelty rings".
Websites are created naming the fattest student or the ugliest, and others get to vote and leave comments. Students who are targeted are as young as 1st grade.
As with other forms of cyberbullying, most victims do NOT tell a trusted adult. One concern is, their computer or electronic device will be taken from them, so instead, they endure the harassment.
Bullying of ANY kind, no matter what means, should not be tolerated.
