Robert A. Singer, 49, was arrested yesterday at his home in Virginia.  Singer, the chief operating officer of the National Children's Museum, is charged with allegedly distributing child pornography over the Internet.

According to a statement released by U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia, Singer is accused of sending images depicting child pornography to who he thought was a young girl and his mother, on five separate occasions.   Some images were sent from his work computer at the Museum.

If convicted on all charges, Singer would face a sentence of up to 140 years in prison.
