US Attorneys Step Up and Issue Subpoena's in Megan Meier Cyberbullying Case!

Even though no charges were filed in Missiouri regarding the sad and disturbing cyberbullying case of beautiful 13-year-old Megan Meier, US prosecutors in Los Angeles are looking into the case and are reportedly issuing subpoena's.

The MySpace electronic bullying incident occured in a small Missouri community in 2006, which resulted in the suicide of Megan Meier.  Missouri prosecutors would not file criminial charges against those involved, including an adult mother, Lori Drew, who lived down the street from Megan.

Now, prosecutors in LA are looking into the possibility of filing federal wire and cyber fraud charges against those involved and believe they have jurisdiction since MySpace headquarters reside in Los Angeles.

Good luck, Tina.  And way to go, LA!!

Watching this family deal with this ordeal has sparked such a interest in me that I have used Megan's story to write my first persuasive essay. I would like to persuade anyone that comes in contact with a computer to be aware of the damage that can be done by "freedom of speech". Is it really free. I am positive that the family and friends of Megan think not.
